It's Gonna Be Alright

Welp, about 12 hrs after i made my last post my health took a turn towards improvement and i was on the road to recovery! As of now, my fever has been gone for almost 24 hrs and it looks like all is well. Thanks for all the well wishing everyone!

Worth mentioning, when i told my parents i was feeling under the weather, they urged me to go see a doctor. Now, i am not really one to seek out medical advice when i have a been suffereing a fever and body aches for a mere two or three days. If symptoms get more serious or last longer than a week i will seek medical attention, but otherwise i just let my body handle it and do its thing. So ANYWAYS. My parents are both urging me to go see a doctor. My mother mentions that i could have contacted bacterial meningitis from drinking unfiltered water during my most recent outing into the woods. I am thankful to say i do not have meningitis and would like thank my mother for scaring the shit out of me.

Hope everyone has a good day!

  2. Ben, Cut me a break! Your dad and I know it can take a stick of dynamite to get you to act - meningitis and typhoid fever (yes, sisters, I mentioned that dreaded illness, too. I forgot about malaria!) - were my sticks of dynamite. And, yet, you STILL did not go to see a doctor. I am so glad you are better, but I won't promise not to try scare tactics again. Your mom will always worry!
    I love you.

  4. hahahaha! scaring the shit out of you. :) ben, i totally do the same thing - let my fever or cold run its course and fight it on my own without seeking medical help. who knows what kinds of things i've contracted that have run their course through me! :)

glad to hear you are doing better and on the road to recovery! :)

  5. Ben ~ What would we do without your Mom-the family physician and therapist. I'm glad you are through the worst of it in time for the race. ~ Aunt Sue

  6. Here's to a full and speedy recovery...glad you're feeling better...

I'll agree with your sister on this one, Ben-it's awesome (and fortunate) to have people to care enough about you to worry, even when you aren't worried about yourself!

  7. I admit, i am incredibly fortunate to have parents who worry so about my health and well being. While it can be a tad aggravating at times (you probably have contracted spinal meningitis because you're abroad!), i should really just count my lucky stars. Thanks guys. I appreciate your concern.
